  1. CANON POWERSHOT G1 X MARK II FLICKR UPGRADE
  2. CANON POWERSHOT G1 X MARK II FLICKR SERIES

I'm hoping the HDR mode is as good as the Nex5. I agree with Vstromkid on giving up on lugging around a DSLR.

CANON POWERSHOT G1 X MARK II FLICKR UPGRADE

I'm a big fan of the G12 and can't wait to upgrade to the G1X. Would probably use this as my main camera as have given up lugging DSLR kits around. Only moved away from G12 as I was a bit disappointed in its dynamic range ( too many blown skies!) but I really like G cameras size, controls, lens etc.

Currently use Panasonic micro-4/3rds but may switch to this as I have used a lot of G series cameras in the past. It's a shame, however, that they haven't included a mic socket in a camera that would otherwise be a serious contender in the video-shooting world.Īlso, I'm wondering whether the G1X has the same issues with 3rd party flash triggers that I encountered with my G12 (although the earlier G cameras had no such problems.)Īm really interested in this camera. This camera will certainly find widespread use as a back-up for professionals. I'm fascinated by the prospect of this new camera I'm amazed they've managed to fit such a large sensor into a G series body. I currently own a G11 as my DSLR backup camera, but I preordered the G1 X from and will pass the G11 on to my wife as soon as it arrives. The G1X will be a great companion to my DSLR kit, and be the camera I will always carry with me. After the announcement of the S100 and no news on a new G series, I decided to wait and see what they had in the making. I was tempted to buy a G12 simply for the hot shoe that my S90 lacks. I am a Huge Canon fan and own a 7D, 50D and S90. I am really looking forward to picking up one of these. I'm not sure I'll ditch my G9 for it, but I might try to pick up a G12, since presumably its price will drop with the release of the G1X. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the G1X offers. Both were/are great cameras (my mom still uses my G7). For point-and-shoot cameras, my choice has always been the Canon G series.
